- Preparation
-
Preparation is everything - so is money from touring.
As an Artist, your income comes from being out on tour. Being able to do cloud based writing and arranging (pre-production) not only allows you to stay out on the road making money, it also allows you to road test the rewrites and revisions with your fans before you go into the studio to make the final recordings
Bad Habit Recordings' approach to cloud based production allows you to do your pre-production anywhere that you happen to be. Music producer Gordon Brislawn will guide you step by step on how to really finesse your preparation. When you finally stand in a recording studio ready to record, the process is quick and effortless and produces consistently solid, world class results on the mic.
This is done through a series of uploads of song sketches from you and is followed up by a number of downloads from Bad Habit where those sketches have been polished, transcribed or even re-arranged. You will be able to download the potential revisions in the morning before you leave the hotel (while you still have WiFi/Internet access) and then be able to work through new rewrites on your laptop while sitting in the back of the bus (or airplane).
You could even try the new song out live on stage that night!
Now when your out on tour, instead of sitting in the back of the bus staring blankly out the window, watching movies on DVD or playing Madlibs with the rest of the band, your able to do really constructive, guided work on your next album as though you were sitting in a recording studio working with an experienced music producer.
The Bad Habit approach to pre-production not only creates well structured songs that communicate but also produces scratch recordings and lyric sheets (with chord changes which will be transcribed and prepared for you). Your bandmates can then listen to the final scratch recording while reading through the finished lyric sheet and chord changes while their sitting in the back of the bus.
Imagine walking into sound check and being able to quickly run down a new song with the band because you do not have to stop and show everyone the chords and different sections of the song.
This is fast.
Being well rehearsed and having road tested the new songs is critical not just to the new material and your fans but also to the recording process itself.
Bad Habit uses a Live in the Studio approach to recording that is very fast and is intended to capture an ideal snap shot of the band's energy from a live show. Compared to the typical approach of writing and rehearsing in the studio and then overdubbing everything, Live in the Studio produces better, more vital recordings much faster and in significantly less time.
Back in the day of Elvis and the early Beatles, this is how records were made. There was no overdubbing and a day's worth of recording would finish the tracking on as many as a half dozen songs.
Just as importantly Live in the Studio can be done without the band having to stop their tour and give up critical touring income and opportunities. Bad Habit Recordings (music producer Gordon Brislawn) has a huge track record with the Live in the Studio approach. This has produced dozens and dozens of world class recordings for tons of national and international bands.
With cloud based pre-production, the Bad Habit track record is leveraged to your advantage to produce a new, first rate, no compromise recording without having to camp out in an expensive studio and give up vital touring income and exposure to new fans in new cities.
Cloud based pre-production allows you to consistently make the most of your time and to build your career and catalog faster than ever before.
